At Alvin S. Hatch Elementary School every student shall be empowered to achieve the highest of skills academically, linguistically, and socially while developing self-esteem and creativity. They believe education is the shared responsibility of parents, students, and the community in partnership with the school.
 

Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, El Granada Elementary School is located on the Half Moon Bay Coastside and serves kindergarten through fifth grade students. There are approximately 500 students in the school. Highlights of our instructional program include:

• Reader’s Workshop and Writer’s Workshop implemented in all classrooms.
• Music consultant who teaches kindergarten through fifth grade students in Orff methodology.
• Physical Education program for grades kindergarten through five that emphasizes movement and appreciation for physical and mental health.
• Library technician maintains the library, reads new literature to primary grade students, and assists upper grade students in research.
• Arts and Sciences Day provides opportunities for students to explore both science and art.
• Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) in which identified fourth and fifth grade students receive instruction one hour per week.
• Summer pre-k program to promote school readiness skills and provide a literacy rich environment for incoming kindergarten students.
• Parent education opportunities organized by a parent involvement coordinator.
   

King’s Mountain Elementary School fosters the development of creative, courageous, compassionate human beings who are committed to realizing their full potential, while supporting others to do the same. They provide a safe and nurturing learning environment where each student receives an appropriate, academically challenging curriculum; develops a sense of personal responsibility; respects all others and practices good citizenship. Building Strong Foundations During Grades 6–8, Cunha helps students make the transition between elementary and high school experiences. The school culture is grounded in the tradition of educating the “whole” person. We work hard to promote academic success and positive behavior. There are two full time counselors for a student body of ~725 students. The counselors work closely with the students on their academic, personal, social and emotional needs. Community Schools involve all aspects of the community in order to increase opportunities for learning, build a sense of connection to the school and community, and improve educational outcomes for all students while supporting the fundamental emotional, physical, and developmental needs of youth and their families. Community members, parents, and youth are actively engaged in determining the needs of the community and designing the programs and services to best meet those needs. Services and programs are developed in such a way that they are easily accessible by youth and their families. Community Schools design and implementation are specifically tailored to the unique qualities, demographics, and dynamics of the community. Often times this is coordinated through one school site. Cabrillo Unified School District has adopted this model for the entire district.

Half Moon Bay High School is a comprehensive 9-12 public high school with a total enrollment of 1064 students.  The 2008 graduating class consists of 206 students.

Sea Crest is a K-8 independent school serving families from Pacifica to Pescadero. The family-like atmosphere provides a safe and comfortable environment for students to develop positive habits of mind, body, and character. The one-on-one attention, guaranteed by a maximum class size of 18, allows the Sea Crest teachers to appropriately challenge each student every day. The expectations in the core academic program not only meet, but exceed, the state grade level standards since the school’s independence allows for teacher creativity in designing units of study. Core work in mathematics, science, reading, writing, social studies/history, and Spanish is complemented by daily Physical Education classes and required enrichment courses in technology, music (choral and instrumental), drama, and art. Middle School students can also choose from a full slate of elective classes ranging from Journalism to Aerodynamics and Sign Language.  Students in grades 5-8 partake in a variety of interscholastic sports competing against teams from throughout the Bay Area. Coastside Family Medical Center's board-certified physicians provide Family Practice and Pediatric healthcare to persons of all ages and income levels. Family practice physicians, pediatricians, and pediatric nurse practitioners provide a high level of quality in their delivery of care. With front office and medical staff having bi-lingual capabilities, they are able to serve the entire coastal population and see people from Pescadero to Pacifica. Their services include:
