Farallone View School (K-5)
- (650) 712-7170
250
Le Conte & Kanoff Streets, Montara 94037 |
Farallone View Elementary School is located
in Montara, CA, a small, pacific coastal community with
access to San Francisco and the Silicon Valley.
At Farallone View, all classrooms provide
grade level standard-based instruction and adhere to
district grade level objectives. Our uniqueness lies in the
ability to offer two types of learning environments: the
traditional classroom and looping program. In the
traditional classroom environment, students master the
content standards one grade level at a time with a different
teacher each year. Occasionally, combination classes are
offered. In the looping program, students remain with the
same teacher for two years. This is a multi-age setting
where classes are made up of K-1 or 2-3 students. Content
standards are intermixed and students master them over a
period of two years. All classes follow the California
content standards, deliver Cabrillo Unified’s Every Child a
Reader and Writer Literacy Program through Readers and
Writers Workshops, as well as offer 30 minutes of daily
English Language Development.
The mission of Farallone View Elementary School
is to ensure that all students acquire the
knowledge and skills to excel in their next educational
challenge, develop a love of learning as well as a respect
for others and the environment. Together, in partnership
with their families and caring community, they strive to
provide all students with a rich, academically challenging
and well rounded educational program.

Manuel F. Cunha Intermediate School (6-8)
Kelly & Church Streets, Half Moon Bay 94019 (650) 712-7190 |
|
Building
Strong Foundations During Grades 6–8,
Cunha helps students make the
transition between elementary and high school experiences.
The school culture is grounded in the tradition of educating
the “whole” person. We work hard to promote academic success
and positive behavior. There are two full time counselors
for a student body of ~725 students. The counselors work
closely with the students on their academic, personal,
social and emotional needs.
Community Schools
involve all aspects of the community in order to increase
opportunities for learning, build a sense of connection to
the school and community, and improve educational outcomes
for all students while supporting the fundamental emotional,
physical, and developmental needs of youth and their
families. Community members, parents, and youth are actively
engaged in determining the needs of the community and
designing the programs and services to best meet those
needs. Services and programs are developed in such a way
that they are easily accessible by youth and their families.
Community Schools design and implementation are specifically
tailored to the unique qualities, demographics, and dynamics
of the community. Often times this is coordinated through
one school site. Cabrillo Unified School District has
adopted this model for the entire district.
Cunha
Intermediate School
provides a safe, nurturing environment where all
students, parents and staff strive to meet high academic
standards and promote lifelong learning. Cunha is committed
to a student-centered learning environment where every
student is encouraged to seek his or her maximum potential.
Scholarship, the ability to reason, as well as civic and
social consciousness is the cornerstone of our mission.
Cunha will inspire all students to reach high academic
expectations, think critically and creatively, become
responsible citizens, value diversity and individual self
worth, as well as pursue continual growth.
