Offering a variety of ocean adventures, Huck Finn Sportfishing is located
at Pillar Point Harbor, on the beautiful Half Moon Bay Coastside. Our
location at the breathtaking Pacific Ocean, is just a short drive from the
Bay Area. The California Gray Whale makes a remarkable journey annually
from their summer grounds in Alaska, to the winter birthing areas in Baja.
The 'Gray Whale Highway' brings them right through our front yard. We
offer seasonal trips, late December into April, to view these remarkable
beings in their natural environment. Our knowledgeable Captains and crew
provide you with information based on their vast knowledge of the ocean,
obtained on their daily voyages. Other natural history, and marine life
cruises are available on request. As we are located within the Monterey
Bay National Marine Sanctuary and adjacent to the Gulf of the Farallone
National Marine Sanctuary, a wide variety of marine life is abundant,
including Porpoise, Humpback Whales, Tufted Puffins, Sea Otters, and
Albatross. Fishing trips are available, seasonally, targeting King Salmon,
Rockfish and Lingcod, and Albacore. We work, currently with six,
hand-picked independently owned and operated boats. The boats offer a
variety of options, are maintained to the highest standards, and the crews
strive to provide their passengers with the best possible ocean
experience.

Eco touring, Whale Watching and fishing are year round activities aboard
the RIPTIDE! We are your Small Charter Specialist and will customize trips
to fit your needs. Riptide offers both half and full day tours for
whale watching/nature trips and to observe surfers off Mavericks. We
often see Humpback whales, which are present in this area year-round. Many
times during the Spring through Fall, we see Blue whales. The height of
the Gray whale migration is from late December through May. There are many
other forms of life to observe from our vessel - Dolphins,
Porpoises, Stellar Sea Lions and many a binocular is bird watching for
offshore species. There is nothing more exciting than hearing “Aye,
‘thar she blows!” when a whale is sighted!
During the fishing season we will be fishing for
salmon, rockfish or tuna depending upon regulations. When the fishing
action starts and we hear the reel sing as the line peels off with a
whopper of a king salmon jumping and tugging against the straining
angler…or the biting of a ling cod pulling your line and trying to dive
into a hole in a rock on the ocean bottom – well, the excitement is felt
all around the deck and everyone cheers in unison when the catch is
landed!
Join us aboard the Riptide for an ocean adventure!
